Gubbio

If one word could describe Gubbio, it would be hills (and lots of them). A medieval town built on the side of a mountain, Gubbio offers old world charm with a cardiovascular workout. The narrow, cobblestone streets and impressive structures are a constant reminder of how young our country is. The grand piazza right outside the hotel is the focal point for concerts and gatherings, one of which we saw upon our arrival. But the streets are what really get your attention, some of which are pedestrian only stairs. If you’re not in good shape, skip this town, but if you want to experience living history, put on our hiking boots and stop by.
